With less than two months to go until the tenth and final Threshold Festival of Music & Arts the team have revealed their first wave of acts expected to grace stages and exhibition walls alike on April 3 and 4 in Liverpool.
Folk hero Nick Ellis, London based electronic pop duo Empathy Test and Liverpool noise trio BARBEROS will give some flavour of the range of acts still to come, while Dumfries based The Lutras will provide the guitar driven indie rock. TEE, Blue Saint and Emilio PInchi will represented some incredible young male solo talent in the city.
A firm Threshold favourite and rising star Chinchilla who stormed the stage at Best Before in 2019 returns after performing to 10,000 at the Estonian Music Awards in January.
In an exclusive to Threshold Festival, producing legend Steve Levine will be talking to BBC 6 Music DJ Chris Hawkins with a masterclass on the art of record production. Steve Levine has a track record that includes Culture Club, The Beach Boys and a massive array of pop acts spanning a career now entering a sixth decade.
Fresh from a Marc Riley Maida Vale live session on BBC 6 Music and supporting Franz Ferdinand at the Roundhouse last year, wonderful deviants Barry will perform on the Beers for Queers stage at District on Friday night.
In performance, Nana Funk returns for the final Threshold with a self-penned one nana show ‘Tough Old Bird’ and in visual arts, festival favourite and Baltic Triangle pioneer Pamela Sullivan is the first name on the exhibition roster.
Central Library based community choir Library of Soul will showcase their melodies including a bespoke Abbey Road medley created for a special event last year celebrating 50 years of the classic Beatles album.
Threshold X will take place in venues in their Baltic Triangle home including District, Constellations (Saturday 4th), Brick Street, Chapters of Us, The Baltic Roastery, Hobo Kiosk, Ditto Coffee and Baltic Creative.
Working alongside co-curating partners, the festival will showcase a diverse range of genres and disciplines to represent a true cross-section of grass-roots music and arts in the city. Hosting stages across the two days will be long term collaborators, Liverpool Acoustic, along with Deep Cuts, Beers for Queers, Mellowtone, Silicon Dreams, Popped Music, WRONG Festival, Liverpool Soulfest, Happy Accidents, Music is Now and The Secret Circus. Planet Slop and Melodic Distraction will also provide alternative stages and listening opportunities.

Her first Threshold Festival in 2017 saw her embryonic but captivating acoustic performance on which she has built considerably as an artist. Most recently she performed to a crowd of 10,000 at the Estonian Music Awards in January.

Threshold X takes place at venues across the Baltic Triangle in Liverpool on 3rd and 4th April, 2020. Tickets are on sale from Eventbrite priced at just £15 and set to increase in price on release of the full line-up later this month.
