The award-winning Festival No. 6 (6-9 Sept ’18) is proud to announce the best Town Hall Sessions to date with a host of world-renowned artists joining composer-in-residence Joe
The intimate Town Hall Sessions become a very special part of the No.6 programme each year, set within the beautiful Grade II listed Jacobean Town Hall which was built in 1937 and is described as one of Sir Clough’s ‘fallen buildings’, as the ceiling was cut up into 100 pieces and brought back from an auction at Emral Hall in Flintshire to Portmeirion where it was rebuilt.

Everything Everything have promised an innovate new slant on tracks that rarely get an airing live, and no cross-over with their main-stage set at this year’s festival. The band hasn’t performed with an orchestra since their groundbreaking Man Alive Ensemble performances back in 2010 at the RNCM and Union Chapel, and their set at the Town Hall is certain to be a festival highlight.
Also joining Joe in the Town Hall is London-based electronic quartet Haelos . With their new EP, Dark Circle released earlier this year, expect an enchanting and melodic performance.

Twenty-year-old Bristolian singer-songwriter Fenne Lily has also just released her first album, ‘On Hold’ which has received critical acclaim. Having performed for Burberry, Fenne’s elegant and addictive sound proves she’s much more than your typical acoustic songwriter.
No.6’s composer-in-residence, Joe Duddell has been part of the festival since the beginning in 2012 and is currently on tour with New Order and Liam Gillick. At No.6, Joe will also be performing with new his orchestral Northern Soul & Motown show with Manchester Camarata.
Joe Duddell: “My residency at Festival No. 6 is always a creative highlight of the year. Festival No.6’s commitment to original programming is so refreshing; the sheer quantity of sets we’ve performed – 22 original works since the festival started – and the creativity they encourage.
“I not only get to choose the artists I collaborate with, we are free to do whatever we want. Add to that the unique performance environment, Portmeirion Town Hall, with its stunning architecture and intense audience connection and you’ve got a one-off experience. It’s magical – people don’t watch through their phones, they choose to be in the moment with us.”

Festival No.6 is a bespoke banquet of music, arts, culture and gastronomy, taking place over the weekend of the 6-9 September in the magical village of Portmeirion, Wales, home of the cult TV series The Prisoner. With more artists, DJ’s, renowned chefs, speakers and surprises yet to be revealed the seventh Festival No.6 will undoubtedly be the most impressive to date.
Acts will perform across the entire site, by the whimsical Italianate architecture of the village, the historic town hall, piazza, Bristol Colonnade, beside the picturesque estuary, in the atmospheric woods and the promenade along the River Dwyryd.
Constructed between 1925 and 1975 by maverick architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, Portmeirion is a wonderfully bizarre and elaborate interpretation of a Mediterranean villa, nestled in the stunning mountains and forests of North Wales overlooking the expansive estuarial waters of the Irish Sea.
