TRNSMT Festival organisers DF Concerts are delighted to reveal Stormzy, Catfish and the Bottlemen, George Ezra, Gerry Cinnamon and Snow Patrol, plus many more will play the Main Stage at the 2019 edition of the Glasgow city-centre festival.
TRNSMT and partners Utilita Energy put the announcement of its 2019 line-up in the hands of fans today, as a live Facebook feed teased cryptic song lyrics to allow them to piece together the acts on the bill. The full list of acts confirmed today, playing across two stages and three days this summer are –
Friday 12th July will see Stormzy, Gerry Cinnamon, Years & Years, AJ Tracey, Fredo, Aminé, Mabel and Gus Dapperton on the Main Stage plus Example, Mist, Mahalia, Jimothy, The Big Moon, Cassia and Kobi Onyame on the King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Energy Stage.
Saturday 13th July will feature Catfish and the Bottlemen, Bastille, Richard Ashcroft, DMA’s, Sigrid, Sundara Karma, The Snuts and Sam Fender on the Main Stage plus The Hunna, Steve Mason, Jade Bird, Fontaines D.C., Cavetown, The Dunts, Arkells and Skinny Lister on the King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Energy Stage.
Sunday 14th July closes the 2019 festival in style with George Ezra, Snow Patrol, Jess Glynne, The Kooks, The Wombats, Tom Grennan and The Amazons on the Main Stage and Circa Waves, Mystery Jets, SWMRS, Catherine McGrath, Sea Girls, Retro Video Club and Whenyoung on the King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Energy Stage.
TRNSMT will take place in Glasgow Green from 12-14 July 2019, with tickets on sale from Friday 22nd February at 9AM. Fans are reminded that there is a payment plan available, making their TRNSMT ticket more affordable, spread across three payments throughout the year.

Attracting 200,000 fans over five days last year, along with bringing some of the biggest names in music to a festival in the heart of the city generated a major lift for the Glasgow economy worth millions of pounds. Tourism, hospitality and leisure businesses supporting hundreds of jobs really feel the benefit when we pull off a major event, at the same time as our city’s reputation for vibrancy and vitality receives another boost. Between now and July the Council will be working with the festival organisers and the local community to ensure that visitors and Glaswegians alike can enjoy and benefit from our third TRNSMT.”
Having made his TRNSMT debut in 2017, Stormzy will return to TRNSMT on the opening day of the 2019 extravaganza. With one Ivor Novello, two BRIT awards and six MOBOs under his belt, a Friday night at TRNSMT will now feature on the rapper’s incredible ascent to the top. Already cementing himself as one of the biggest and best on the scene before the release of his debut LP ‘Gang Signs and Prayer’ in 2017, Stormzy has shown no signs of stopping. Playing with different genres in soul, gospel and grime, the rapper seamlessly blends swagger, soulfulness and storytelling in his songwriting. With his captivating live set best displayed at TRNSMT 2017 as he took the 50,000-capacity crowd with him on a thrilling journey of energy they hadn’t seen before, his return will be one to watch. As Stormzy puts the finishing touches on his upcoming second album, his exhilarating set in Glasgow’s city centre on a Friday night will be one for the festival’s history books.
Top of the bill on the Main Stage on Saturday 13th July 2019, TRNSMT Festival are thrilled to welcome back the incredible Catfish and the Bottlemen to Glasgow. This follows their memorable performance in TRNSMT’s opening year and their outstanding headline show at Summer Sessions Festival in Glasgow last summer. Magnetic frontman Van McCann clearly holds a special place for the city and its world-renowned crowds, as demonstrated by penning a song on their last album entitled ‘Glasgow’. Their gold-status 2016 album ‘The Ride’, quickly became a fan favourite for singalong anthems ‘7’, ‘Twice’ and ‘Soundcheck’, alongside debut singles and all-round festival bangers ‘Kathleen’ and ‘Homesick’. Catfish and the Bottlemen have perfected their live set by consistently touring around the world and are simply one of the hottest live bands around.
George Ezra will play the final day of the festival on Sunday 14th July 2019. One of Britain’s favourite singer-songwriters, George Ezra joins the bill, making his return to TRNSMT after a debut slot which went down in the festival’s history in its first year. His album was the biggest selling artist album in the UK in 2019, with number one single ‘Shotgun’ officially the song of the summer according to the OCC and Spotify. The sophomore album was written, created and inspired by his travels, including spells on the Isle of Skye; at a pig farm in Norfolk; a former cornflour shed in Kent; a converted cow shed in north Wales; and an Airbnb in Barcelona owned by the Tamara of the album’s title. The result is a finger-snapping, brass-blaring, wind-in-the-hair album that shines with positivity and encouragement, alongside moments of more subdued reflection, making it no surprise that the singer is nominated for three BRITs in 2019. George Ezra’s festival-ready tunes ‘Shotgun’, ‘Paradise’ and ‘My Girl’ are sure to go down a treat on the TRNSMT Main Stage next summer.
George Ezra: “It was a special moment playing the first ever TRNSMT in 2017, and to be coming back so soon is very exciting. That summer was my first time playing some of the new songs that went on to form my second album ‘Staying At Tamara’s’, and since then I’ve taken these tunes around the world and back. It’s going to be brilliant to return to Glasgow and play to an audience that has now heard the record, and I hope you’re all up for one very big singalong!”
Also on the Main Stage on the closing day of TRNSMT are Snow Patrol. Having formed while studying in Dundee, Snow Patrol have become embedded in the fabric of the Scottish music scene, headlining some of the country’s biggest and most legendary venues including The SSE Hydro, T in the Park, King Tut’s and many more. Winning SSE Artist of the Year at last year’s SSE Scottish Music Awards, the band released their first album in seven years in 2018, which sees them searching for clarity, connection, and meaning, while staying true to the melodic songwriting prowess that brought them to prominence. In what will be their TRNSMT Festival debut, DF Concerts can’t wait to bring the band back to their second home of Glasgow next summer, with singalong anthems like ‘Run’, ‘Chasing Cars’ and ‘Just Say Yes’ sure to be amongst the highlights of the weekend.

TRNSMT Festival are delighted to confirm Gerry Cinnamon for TRNSMT 2019 following his meteoric rise from playing the King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Stage in the opening year in 2017, rising to the Main Stage in 2018, playing to one of the biggest crowds of the weekend. His appearance on the Main Stage in 2019 is sure to be a show that goes down in the TRNSMT history books. Unsigned, Gerry Cinnamon has become a cult hero and force to be reckoned with. His upcoming UK and Ireland headline tour continues his legacy of selling out shows in minutes. His hugely anticipated self-produced, self-released debut album Erratic Cinematic rocketed to the top of the iTunes album charts on release with little more than a social media post, holding off some of the biggest names the industry has to offer. His anthemic tracks, laced with social commentary, have captured the imagination of audiences up and down the country. Gerry Cinnamon is more than an artist but a phenomenon, paving the way for the next generation of DIY pioneers. The awards, sold out shows and reaction to his critically acclaimed debut album has not only propelled him to the next level but affirmed his place as a writer as well as a live act.

Joining Catfish and the Bottlemen on Saturday 13th July are British chart toppers Bastille who will make their TRNSMT debut on the Main Stage. The biggest band to emerge out of the UK in the last ten years, the BRIT award winners and Grammy-nominated band will bring their massive singalong hits which include ‘Pompeii’, ‘Things We Lost in the Fire’, ‘Good Grief’ and recent global smash, ‘Happier’ to Glasgow’s city centre, a year after their epic headline show at Edinburgh Summer Sessions in 2018.
Bastille said: “We’re so excited to be playing TRNSMT for the first time. We had such a great time playing a couple of gigs in Glasgow last week – the Scottish crowds are always so brilliant – and can’t wait to head back to town to play the festival.”

Synth-pop stars Years & Years whose sophomore album ‘Palo Santo’ brought massive hits perfect for sunny festival days, including ‘Sanctify’ and ‘If You’re Over Me’ will make their TRNSMT debut in 2019. Multi-award-winning rapper AJ Tracey joins the Main Stage on Friday 12th July as one of the leading forces in UK rap and the UK’s highest streaming independent artist. AJ’s highly anticipated self-titled debut album was released earlier this month and charted at #3 in the UK Official Charts. Also joining the opening day line-up for TRNSMT 2019; London rapper Fredo who scored a UK number one single with one of the hottest singles of 2018 ‘Funky Friday’ with Dave, from OutKast to Steven Spielberg, the artists who move culture forward don’t simply inhabit this world; they create their own. That’s exactly what Aminé did on his 2017 full-length debut. We’re thrilled to have Aminé on the TRNSMT line-up for 2019. Plus Mabel, an effortless storyteller who combines her distinctive voice with banging beats, as displayed on her feature with Jax Jones on one of the biggest songs of 2018 ‘Ring Ring’ and new smash hit ‘Don’t Call Me Up’ which already has over 21 million Spotify streams since its release last month. Also on the Main Stage on the opening day of TRNSMT is Gus Dapperton. Releasing his single in 2018 called ‘World Class Cinema’ and more recently ‘My Favorite Fish’ through AWAL Records. Clocking up millions of Spotify streams in the last 12 months, Gus Dapperton is a truly exciting addition to the TRNSMT line-up.

TRNSMT are thrilled to welcome Richard Ashcroft to the festival this summer in what is a truly exciting addition to the Saturday 13th July line-up, returning to Glasgow following his heroic sold-out Barrowlands show last year. Richard Ashcroft’s new album ‘Natural Rebel’ encapsulates the power of his past and storms into the present. DMA’s have been embraced by the UK audience, seeing their live shows consistently sell out and their performances going from strength to strength. As well as extensively touring the UK last year with their own headline dates, the band also toured with Liam Gallagher, Richard Ashcroft, Kasabian and The Kooks amongst others, meaning their slot on the Main Stage is sure to be a highlight of the weekend. Sigrid’s certified-gold ‘Strangers’ and 2018’s critically acclaimed ‘Raw’ EP led to sold out shows across the world plus winning the much-coveted BBC Sound of 2018 poll. Following a huge set on the King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Energy Stage in 2018, TRNSMT are thrilled to welcome Sigrid back to Glasgow’s TRNSMT Festival this summer, on the Main Stage.
Also joining the Main Stage line-up on Saturday 13thJuly are Sundara Karma, with a truckload of solid gold anthems that have seen them hailed as the bright future of alt-rock. Local heroes The Snuts join the line-up, graduating to the TRNSMT Main Stage following their incredible King Tut’s Powered by Utilita Energy Stage set last summer. Selling out their last Scottish tour in just one day and set to play at SXSW next month, the band have quickly built up a reputation for their electric live shows and their hit track ‘Glasgow’ is sure to thunder through the TRNSMT site in the heart of Glasgow’s city centre. Finally, BRITs Critics Choice winner Sam Fender joins the line-up with lyrics tackling hard-hitting subjects of social importance and generational significance, broadly drawn from his experiences growing up on Tyneside, wrapped in rousing, propulsive, arena-sized anthems.

Singer, songwriter and one of the biggest pop stars in the UK, Jess Glynne joins the TRNSMT line-up for the first time. In 2018 Jess Glynne became the first British female solo artist to have seven number one singles in the UK and has four BRIT nominations to celebrate this year. Indie-pop perfectionists The Kooks make a welcome return to TRNSMT in 2019 after thrilling a sun-drenched crowd with their hit-filled set mixing old favourites ‘Naïve’ with massive new tracks ‘Be Who You Are’. Luke Pritchard and co. are the perfect festival band, making them an outstanding addition to TRNSMT 2019. English trio The Wombats make their TRNSMT debut this summer and the Liverpudlians are sure to delight festival fans with smash singles ‘Let’s Dance To Joy Division’ and ‘Moving To New York’ plus 2018’s infectious, and made for festivals, tune ‘Lemon To A Knife Fight’. Tom Grennan returns to TRNSMT for the third consecutive year and was a true highlight of the 2018 festival with a massive singalong set including hit singles ‘Royal Highness’, ‘Sober’ and ‘Found What I’ve Been Looking For’ which have all become BBC Radio 1 mainstays. Completing the Main Stage line-up are The Amazons, fresh from a run of tiny shows (including Glasgow’s Nice N Sleazy) and the release of their new single ‘Mother’. Expect to hear tracks from the follow-up to their Top 10 debut album, The Amazons are a rock band poised for greatness in 2019.

Joining Example on the festival’s opening day is; Mist, one of the country’s hottest rising rap phenomenon’s, Mahalia, who joined Sam Fender and Lewis Capaldi as nominees for 2019’s BRITs Critics’ Choice Award, Jimothy, the Camden rapper described as ‘North London’s viral wonderkid’ by The Guardian, The Big Moon, the Mercury Prize shortlisted four-piece with new music due in 2019, Cassia, a band cementing their place as one of the most sought after live acts on the European circuit with a debut album ‘Replica’ set for release on Distiller Records on 5th April 2019,and Kobi Onyame, the Glasgow based Ghanaian hip-hop artist who has supported acts like Kanye West and whose album, Gold, was shortlisted for the 2018 SAY Award.
Playing the King Tut’s Stage Powered by Utilita Energy on Saturday 13th July, The Hunna will return to Glasgow’s city centre after an outstanding slot at Glasgow Summer Sessions in 2018. Joining Circa Waves for the festival’s closing day on the King Tut’s Stage Powered by Utilita Energy are; Mystery Jets, whose ability to craft a singalong indie anthem has gone from strength to strength across their 16 years in the industry, SWMRS, the Californian punk-rockers labelled ‘rock’s next generation’ by Kerrang!, Catherine McGrath, the Northern-Irish singer-songwriter making waves in both the UK and Nashville, the home of country music, Sea Girls, the BBC Sound of 2019 shortlisted band renowned for their frenetic live shows, Retro Video Club, Edinburgh’s very own high-octane indie-rockers who are set to embark on a sold-out Scottish tour, plus Whenyoung, who have been hailed the future of indie pop by music critics.
