With the release of his brand new compilation album, Trevor Nelson announces a UK tour to deliver some much needed old school and modern RNB hits and soul classics. Trevor Nelson is arguably the UK’s leading DJ in the urban scene; playing worldwide with a long running DJ residency at Pacha, Ibiza and an award-winning career spanning decades. Starting out at then pirate station Kiss FM, Trevor went on to A&R artists such as D’Angelo and in 1996, he presented the first national RNB show on BBC Radio 1 and has continued to host weekday shows at BBC 1Xtra and a weekly BBC Radio 2 prime time Saturday evening show, ‘Trevor Nelson’s Rhythm Nation’, which he describes as: “The show I’ve been waiting my whole entire life to do”.
His latest release, Trevor Nelson Club Classics (out 4 November on UMOD) follows on from the major success of the previous trio of Number 1 selling compilation albums. Club Classics sees Trevor carefully curate a flawless array of old school soul classics, modern RNB hits and forgotten gems from the early 1970s to present day. The album features a brand new collection of classic club hits, featuring the legendary likes of James Brown, The Jackson 5, Kool & The Gang, mixed with Top Ten hits from the current crop of R&B kings and queens including The Weeknd, Jeremih and Alessia Cara.
Trevor Nelson said: “I’ve really been itching to put together a national tour of the UK since the days of the legendary MTV Lick Parties, so I was delighted when the idea of this year’s tour was conceived. After some serious planning and scheduling we’ve come up with a string of dates leading up to Christmas and the end of the year in some major cities to bring my brand of classic 80s / 90s and 00s soul and RNB to the dance floor. I guarantee a great night of classics and fun with likeminded people of all ages. The clubbers and music lovers we get at these events are really unique. You guys make the party not me, so I hope you can join me!”
The first ever tour for this brand new album promises to be a huge celebration of Trevor’s favourite genres, artists and tracks.
