Jackass star brings Standup Tour to the UK
Steve-O might well have made a name for himself through his love of stunts and as one of the most fearless members of the Jackass crew, but now he brings his hilarious comedy to the UK as part of a huge European and North American tour, and as you’d expect it’s uncensored and like NOTHING you’ve ever seen before … and where Steve-O’s concerned you’ve already seen a lot!
So let’s take a look at the man himself and back to where it all started, when Steve-O, or back then Stephen Glover, snatched a video camera from his father’s closet aged 15 and produced his own, homemade skateboarding videos featuring dangerous stunts mixed with his comedy … we all know where this is going right? But did you know he graduated from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in 1997, and had a career as a circus clown before achieving fame? Determined to make it as a professional stuntman Steve-O began pitching his homemade videos, and fortunately these found their way into the hands of Jeff Tremaine (Jackass Creator/Director/Producer) who was working with Johnny Knoxville to create a stunt based reality show. The rest, as they say, is history and what a journey it’s been so far!
From Jackass the TV show to hit movies, the spin-off show Wildboyz, and the ‘Steve-O Don’t Try This At Home Tour’, which firmly established him as an accomplished stage performer, Steve- O has continued to thrill audiences with his outrageous comedy. It’s no secret he’s had a colourful life; his battle with drugs, alcohol, and even his sex drive provide endless stories, and that’s before you even bring in anecdotes of his antics caught on (and off!) camera; Steve-O has more than enough to play with on-stage and that’s before he gets the audience involved …
