Subsound and Stillhet Music Present Sekuoia plus The Baltic States, Body and Lumen
On 12 October 2016 Stillhet Liverpool join forces with SubSound to return with a very special live event featuring the awesome Danish beat maker Sekuoia!
Sekuoia, alias 22-year old Patrick Madsen, is one of the most acclaimed producers to come out of Scandinavia right now. He has just released his new single, the beautifully crafted ‘Someone’s Problem’ via Nowadays Records, ahead of the release of his debut album later this year.
Sekuoia creates a sonic brainwave of smooth bass lines and ebullient synth hooks bolstered by a barrage of ghostly, chopped-up vocal samples and incredible beats. Held together by his unique production style, ‘Someone’s Problem’ touches on a number of influences, such as Flume, Jamie xx and Lomovolokno. Liverpools based The Baltic States effortlessly blend techno and haunting electronica with hypnotic, soaring vocal melodies. Their Singles Kontrol & Boxes were named as track of the week by a number of radio stations and by Best of British Unsigned and received wide airplay across the UK which included being featured on BBC Radio 6, BBC London, BBC Merseyside and Amazing Radio. All four tracks from the E.P. were included in the top ten of Fresh on The Net by BBC 6 Music DJ Tom Robinson.

Already having supported Jam City, Dark Star & James Holden and playing festivals alongside Kurupt FM & My Nu Leng.
Rounding the line up off is multi award nominated L U M E N With funky bass lines that could easily be mistaken for the talent of New Order’s Peter Hook, as well as gorgeously smooth vocals to accompany – it’s difficult to believe that this tight and quirky sound from LU M E N stems from the creative brain of a guy that’s not even legal to have a cheeky bevy yet!
