Ocean Club Marbella has revealed the four guest DJs that will play at one-off pool parties every Friday in August 2015. Playing for the very first time at the exclusive beach side venue near Puerto Banús, Boris Dlugosch, Sonny Fodera, Purple Disco Machine and Lovebirds will host their own daytime parties around the huge central turquoise pool and will be supported by OC’s resident DJs.
House music DJ and producer Boris Dlugosch will open August’s new Friday sessions on 7th August, bringing a funky, deep-house vibe to the outdoor beach club with his cutting-edge remixes, for which he has become known. Since the early 90s, the Hamburg-based DJ has collaborated with an enviable line-up of artists, with remixes of Daft Punk, Jamiroquai, Basement Jaxx, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Tiefschwarz, and Bob Sinclar among his repertoire. His 1999 remix for Moloko’s ‘Sing It Back’ is arguably his most renowned number to date.
On Friday 14th August, Australian house producer Sonny Fodera, will take to Ocean Club’s poolside decks with his one-of-a-kind style that seamlessly combines deep bass, fresh vocals and upbeat melodies, perfect for the pool and the dance floor. Fodera’s collaborations with the likes of Doorly, Gene Farris, Cajmere, Cervendos and Defected have helped him emerge as one of today’s most in-demand DJs, playing sets at celebrated house music venues around the world, while his full-length debut ‘Moving Forward’, released in 2014, is his most complete artistic statement to date.
Purple Disco Machine headlines the pool party on Friday 21st August, promising a creative, sophisticated and addictive live performance for OC’s daytime party-goers. The German-born artist’s signature style, combining deep funk sound with touches of NuDisco, electronica and 80s flair, has made PDM a key figure in the electronic music scene , helped by a number of dance-floor fillers, including ‘Move or Not’, ‘Street Life’, ‘I House You’ and ‘My House’, one of the defining tunes of summer 2013.
Completing August’s Friday pool parties at Ocean Club Marbella is Lovebirds, the solo project of Hamburg DJ / producer Sebastian Doering. Formerly one half of the internationally acclaimed dance act, Knee Deep, Lovebirds launched in 2000 offering a futuristic take on 70s and 80s sounds and the classic House vibe. As one of today’s most talked-about House music influencers thanks to his unusual mixes, underground beats and classic house styles, Lovebirds will be an apt guest act to round off Ocean Club’s Friday pool party series.
The four guest DJs will play from 4pm at Ocean Club Marbella on the respective Friday, while Ocean Club’s resident DJs, Jay Saccone, Edu Reyes, Dj Nilo and Dj Bny, will warm up the poolside crowd from 11am when the beach club opens. The usual entrance to Ocean Club Marbella applies with free entry to the bar and beds from 150€ for three people.
