Liverpool Tattoo Convention returns to the city for its 10th anniversary on the 5th, 6th & 7th May in 2017.
Taking over the entire Adelphi Hotel and filling it with world class tattoo artists, the convention will also feature a packed line-up of entertainment; over 20 live bands including sets from Doctor & The Medics and Bolshy, stage shows from the likes of The Fuel Girls, competitions for the best tattoos and an alternative market place where attendees can shop till they drop.
Entertainment Highlights
Dr & The Medics – Dr and the Medics were created almost at the dawn of the 80’s, in 1982 by The Rev Dr. Clive Thomas Jackson. Undoubtedly they are been best known for their massive 1986 No 1 “Spirit in the Sky,” which sold over 24 Million copies world wide and was number 1 in 23 countries. They are also recognized as a great live act; in 1985 the NME referred to them as “THE live band of the year.”
Johnny Strange: Comedy Daredevil – Risking life and limb in the name of entertainment is just another day in the office for Johnny Strange. This English born performer travelled the length and breadth of Britain perfecting his art form before touring his show extensively throughout the rest of the world. A natural born performer, Johnny Strange mastered some of the most daring acts brought to the stage. Along with a plethora of Guinness World Records he has also earned the nickname, “The man with ears of steel”.
Bolshy – The 7 piece push the boundaries of Ska Punk combining Klezmer, Dub, Metal and Afrobeat. They kicked off their journey in summer 2012 busking religiously on the streets of Liverpool, then rushing off to play sweaty basements gigs. Since then they’ve taken the UK underground scene by storm sharing stages with the likes of The Restarts, Prince Fatty, Dirty Revolution, Radical Dance Faction and Culture Shock.
The Fuel Girls – The world famous multi-skilled performance group return to Liverpool Tattoo Convention. The Fuel Girls are a kick ass, ultra-sexy, fire breathing rock and roll, fire, aerial, sparks and pyro show. The Girls have performed all over the world, showcasing their talents and their passion for FMX shows, rock festivals, motorshows, rallies, extreme sports and wild parties.
Stone Deaf Forever – Formed in 2010 Stone Deaf Forever started as 3 friends looking to play Motorhead songs & drink beer. Fast forward to now & after the passing of Lemmy their desire to keep Motorhead music alive has only increased. Last year saw them play all over the UK along with several festivals including a headline slot at the famous Bulldog Bash. It’s gonna be good & it’s gonna be loud.
Luxury Stranger – Mainly influenced by the sounds of post-punk/cold wave and indie from 1978 – 1984 and the 90s American ‘Grunge’ and punk scenes. Imagine: David Bowie and Iggy Pop’s Berlin years mixed with a dash of Bolan glam, the disparate sound of Joy Division and early Cure, the energy and darkness of 90s ‘Grunge’ with the melodies of Martin L Gore and power of The Chameleons and Echo & the Bunnymen – This is Luxury Stranger.
Hands Off Gretel – The sound Hands Off Gretel make is raw and influenced strongly by 90s female fronted grunge bands. They get loud and shouty and soft and pretty; “it’s frustration music from a girl in her room shouting out at the real world”.
