The first wave of acts for the 2018 Liverpool Calling have been announced, making their return after a two-year absence.
But It’s not just the line-up they are sharing, they are also thrilled to tell you that Liverpool Calling is expanding to two days.
As well as the main event on Saturday, 23rd June (taking over the Baltic Triangle), they have added to the weekend’s shenanigans by putting more music on for you on the Friday night in Liverpool City Centre.
The first night will consist of some touring emerging acts topping the bill with some excellent local bands and record label showcases, hitting venues such as the Jacaranda, EBGBs, and Studio 2.
The Saturday sees his make the short trip over the ever-growing Baltic Triangle to host a wide range of acts across various genres, consisting of top nationally-recognised touring artists as well championing the best local and unsigned bands our area has to offer.
A lot of events (Liverpool Calling included!) have moved over to the Baltic Triangle but they don’t want to forget our roots. Liverpool Calling began in the City Centre in 2013, and there are so many great venues that deserve to be used. So, they thought lets expand it two days.
Friday night they take over the City Centre, and Saturday they take over the Baltic Triangle. Not only does this allow them to use so many fantastic venues Liverpool has to offer, it also allows them to accommodate so many great acts too.
The £20 ticket price allows access to all venues across both days. Once the £20 batch of tickets have sold out, they will increase to £25.
Now for the line-up…
Two co-headliners top the bill, first up is Leeds noise-makers Pulled Apart By Horses. The second headliner is Pysch Rockers The Wytches.
Liverpool Calling will also be hosting an acoustic stage, as Will Varley tops the bill. Another band who are making waves all over the UK are Sheafs. They will also be performing at LC.
Elsewhere, there is Strange Bones, SPQR, Peaness, Shy Billy, Life at the Arcade, Generation, The Jackobins, Elevant, Thom Morecroft, Emily Capell, Crapsons, Michael Bennett.
