Kirsty Almeida set for Rochdale Feel Good Festival date
FEEL GOOD FESTIVAL 2015 – Kirsty Almeida

Renowned for her circus-like mix of blues and jazzy pop, Kirsty Almeida is one of the most exciting and unique singer-songwriters to emerge in recent times. She has collaborated with the likes of Youth and the Guy Barker Orchestra as well as writing and recording music for films. Her latest album ‘DejaVoodu’ was released last year. Kirsty has also worked with Robbie Williams’ songwriter Guy Chambers and her collaboration with fellow Manchester resident Mr Scruff resulted in the hugely successful remix – Pickled Spider.

Backed by her fabulous band, Kirsty Almeida has won rave reviews for her unique performances at festivals such as Glastonbury, Manchester Jazz Festival, Lovebox and The Secret Garden Party as well as many international shows.
And it will be a Rochdale return for Kirsty – she performed a memorable set on the main stage back in 2010, and said she is excited to be returning:

I loved Rochdale Feel Good Festival the first time, I’m looking forward to it even more now.  I’ve had a child and took some time off to enjoy watching him grow, but I’ve missed performing so this is an exciting comeback for me. The crowds in the north west are my favourite. This festival in particular does what it does like no other – real care goes into the Feel Good Festival which makes it a delight for us. I’m bringing a troupe of very talented musicians and some exciting new material.”

Kirsty Almeida will be joined by the previously announced bands The South and Toploader plus more still to be confirmed.

Rochdale Feel Good Festival returns on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September, for another incredible showcase of entertainment, food and culture. There will be live music across indoor venue, the main stage sponsored by The Flying Horse Hotel, and a smaller outdoor stage. Celebrity chefs including Rachel Khoo and Kevin Woodford will host live cooking demonstrations throughout the event, which will also include the popular food market.

Councillor Janet Emsley Cabinet Member for Culture, Health and Wellbeing at Rochdale Borough Council said:

I know Kirsty got an amazing response and gained a lot of new fans when she last performed here at the festival. She’s an amazing talent and I’m sure it’s going to be another incredible show, as her live performances are always special.”

The summer festival is funded by Rochdale Borough Council together with sponsorship from local businesses.
