Kendal calling poster announcing 2025 being sold out

Taking place from 31 July – 3 August 2025Kendal Calling is counting down to its 20th birthday celebrations next summer, and it seems fans are just as excited to return to the fields and get festivities underway! Just three weeks since the first wave line-up was revealed, including headliners Courteeners, Fatboy Slim, The Prodigy and Kaiser Chiefs, Kendal Calling has now officially SOLD OUT, and in record time. Not only that, Cumbria’s biggest music festival has broken its own records, selling out for twenty consecutive years – a true testament to the glorious Kendal Calling community who return year-on-year to the hallowed grounds of Lowther Deer Park.

Andy Smith, founder of Kendal Calling said, “I don’t often find myself lost for words, but this year has completely blown us away. Twenty years, twenty sell-outs — it’s simply incredible. The demand for this one has been like nothing we’ve ever seen before. I’ve always said it’s the people who make the festival and the Kendal Calling community is truly something special, the very heart of what makes it all so magical. For nearly two decades, these four days have been the beating heart of summer, filled with joy, wonder, and celebration. Selling out before the year’s even up is astonishing, but there’s still so much to do behind the scenes to make sure this 20th-anniversary celebration is everything you could dream of and more. We can’t wait to share it with you.”

From humble beginnings, Kendal Calling started out as a small, 900 capacity gathering at Abbot Hall Park in Kendal. Marking its first foray into the wonderful world of festivals, organisers managed to nab festival giants Pendulum and Kendal’s own British Sea Power for the first-ever line-up! Kendal Calling has since snowballed into an adventure like no other, transforming its Lake District home into a feast for the senses. In 2007 the festival moved to Grate Farm, before settling into its home of Lowther Deer Park in 2009. Over two decades, the festival has hosted acts from Mumford & Sons to Sam Fender, Blondie to The 1975, evolving into one of the UK’s most beloved summer events.

Next summer, Kendal Calling will rise up once again to become Cumbria’s third biggest town to celebrate 20 fun-filled years of music, magic, exploration and adventure, all in the heart of the Lake District. The wonderful world of Kendal Calling is a festival escape like no other, with a breathtaking landscape and immersive wonder to be discovered in all four corners of its picturesque site. With over 80+ acts already revealed for the big birthday bill and more still to come, the line-up is truly stacked and includes Courteeners, Fatboy Slim, The Prodigy and Kaiser Chiefs, The Last Dinner Party, Travis, The Wombats, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Jason Manford, The K’s, Skindred, Corinne Bailey Rae, The Lottery Winners, Maximo Park, Scouting For Girls, Tim Burgess … the list goes on.

And there’s so much more to be explored, with festival goers encouraged to wander and uncover. From partying underneath the fauna of the upside down garden known as Parklands, to grabbing a coffee in Tim Burgess’ pop up coffee shop TIm Peaks Diner, and of course, the jewel in Kendal Calling’s crown – the cornucopia of curiosity that is the woodlands of Lost Eden. Plus, there’s plenty for families to enjoy including the specially curated Kids Calling as well as a plethora of art and light installations, The Stagger Inn pub, and even a themed parade featuring hundreds of performers from the local area. Hailed the ‘mini Glastonbury of the North’, Kendal Calling is quite simply, not to be missed.

Although the festival is now sold out, fans who may have missed out are encouraged to keep an eye on Kendal Calling’s official resale partner Tixel.

Set in Lowther Deer Park in the beautiful Lake District, Kendal Calling will take place from 31 July – 3 August 2025.
