Following a tour of intimate UK venues surrounding the release of the ‘New Born Cry’ LP and string of festival shows over the summer, JOHN McCULLAGH & THE ESCORTS now set their sights on a series of Autumn gigs.
Speaking about the Autumn dates, McCullagh said:
“Glad the album’s finally out there so people can hear it. Loved the dates we’ve played this year and to play Doncaster was a real highlight for me, so looking forward to keep promoting the album into the autumn.”
A final festival date at Blackburn’s Confessional Fest (26th Sept) will lead into dates atYork, Banbury and Wolverhampton – plus Scottish gigs planned at Hard Rock Cafe, Glasgow (23rd Oct) and Aberdeen’s Cafe Drummonds.
In addition, a wealth of new shows have now been added (30/09/2015) with shows lined up in Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield and more (see below)…
Influenced by the likes of Donovan, Marc Bolan, Paul Weller and Johnny Cash, McCullagh has been playing guitar and writing songs since he was twelve, and his latent talent for his beloved six-string was soon followed by mastery of the harmonica. When McCullagh was just fifteen years old, he became one of the first signings to music industry legend Alan McGee’s label, 359 Music.
Praise for ‘New Born Cry’ Album:

“It appears there’s nothing McCullagh cannot do and nothing he’s afraid of attempting with panache.” – 4/5 Gigslutz
“McCullagh sounds older than his now 17 years and delivers some fine three-minute pop...” Scottish Daily Express
