The Irish-born, Liverpool-based artist will play Kaz Stockroom on Saturday 14th May, with the hometown show coming in the wake of his previous crowd-pleasing headliners in the city. Quickly attracting attention on home-soil with his skillful street-busking shows in Liverpool’s bustling city centre, the 21-year old singer-songwriter has become something of a word-of-mouth phenomenon.
Now beginning to attract a global audience with his distinctive style and relatable songcraft, O’Donell has since amassed 42.9k streams on Spotify and over 13,000 listeners across 77 countries. With early singles “Layla”, “Figure It Out” and “Summer 2016” earmarking the young artist as a firm one to watch, the latter most single alone surpassed over 6000 streams in less than a week. In addition, his releases to date have caught the eye of radio stations across the UK and Ireland with “Figure It Out” being named RTÉ 2FM’s Track of the Week and gaining airplay on Ocean FM, Islington Radio, Hayes FM and Mersey Radio amongst others.
With his last show selling out in less than 24 hours, O’Donnell has already sold out shows at Liverpool Arts Club and the Jacaranda and is quickly sailing through the city’s musical institutions. With most recent single “Ready To Go” now in his arsenal and a wealth of winning material up his sleeve, next month’s 100 capacity show to hometown crowd could be the last chance to see the rising star in such an intimate setting.
