Jack Daniel’s today announces a new partnership with the Music Venue Trust, to host a three-date, mini-tour featuring Circa Waves, Peace and Band of Skulls, each playing an intimate homecoming show this April.
Continuing the brand’s ongoing support for independent music, 100% of the ticket price will be going to the Music Venue Trust, a charity created to protect the UK live music network by securing the long-term future of iconic grassroots venues.
Taking each band back to their hometown, the shows will be a rare opportunity to see three of the UK’s hottest live acts playing small-capacity venues in the cities that made them. Jack Daniel’s recognises the importance of where you come from, every drop of Jack Daniel’s is made in Lynchburg Tennessee, the birthplace and centre of its distilling tradition for over 150 years.
The shows are:
April 5th – Circa Waves at EBGBs, Liverpool
Having met on the local Liverpool music scene, Circa Waves enjoyed a phenomenal ascent to the upper reaches of the current indie scene. After hitting the Top 10 with their debut album ‘Young Chasers’, their second album ‘Different Creatures’ was heralded by NME as “something to believe in.”
Based in the heart of the city centre, Heebie Jeebies extends the city’s rich musical heritage by providing a live music venue in its basement – the perfect place for the next wave of talent to master their craft.
April 9th – Peace at Sunflower Lounge, Birmingham
Over the course of two critically-acclaimed albums, Peace have firmly established themselves as a huge draw on the live circuit. Another exciting chapter will be added to their story with the imminent release of their new album ‘Kindness Is The New Rock And Roll’.
Peace honed their sound in Birmingham, where they’ll play the Sunflower Lounge. Inspired by the grit and glamour of New York dive bars, the Sunflower Lounge has been showcasing the best underground, breaking and local talent since 2002.
April 25th – Band of Skulls at The Joiners, Southampton
Over the course of four albums, Band of Skulls have forged a cult following for their incendiary live shows. Completing the trio of gigs, they play Southampton’s The Joiners as part of the iconic venue’s 50th birthday celebrations. Since opening in 1968, The Joiners has hosted everyone from Coldplay and Arctic Monkeys to current local heroes Creeper.
Tickets for all shows go on sale from midday Friday 2nd March and will be available from here.
Mark Davyd, CEO of the Music Venue Trust, commented;
“We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Jack Daniel’s with these fantastic Homecoming shows which are a vital part of the nationwide Fightback by Grassroots Music Venues, artists and audiences. Working together we can stop closures, secure a long-term future for venues, and start to improve Britain’s grassroots circuit.”
