2019 has been a year of self-discovery amidst hard work and mind-blowing fun for Grace Carter. From being swathed in accolades at its helm (see: coming number 3 in the BBC Sound of 2019 + MTV, YouTube, Amazon OTW lists), to performing at festivals all over the world (including SXSW, Glastonbury, Jay Z’s Made In America), and completing her first Asia tour with shows in Japan, Korea, and Bali, to releasing new music and to somehow finding the time to focus on developing her song writing and engage in exciting sessions in both London and LA.
The fruits of this labour and expanding worldly experience is displayed in ‘Fired Up’– her new single. Listen HERE
When commenting on ‘Fired Up’ Grace explained, ‘I’ve spent the past 2 years of my career reliving my childhood and forgetting to live in the moment. This new music is about me growing up, discovering new parts of my self and finding forgiveness and peace in some of the situations I’ve encountered in my life. Fired Up is a song I wrote about falling in love for the first time. I feel stronger than ever – I found strength through my vulnerability.’
‘Fired Up’ follows this year’s singles ’Heal Me’ and ‘Don’t Hurt Like It Used To’ and sets Grace up on a different path musically. The song is a more relaxed, intimate insight into Grace’s world with her vocals delicately telling a tale of love and connection. As well as working with long-term collaborators. The 23rd, she teamed up with Detonate (Labrinth) and Coffee (Dua Lipa)on a wealth of new music over recent months, ‘Fired Up’ markedly steps things up a gear for this undeniable, burgeoning British talent. Expect great things from Grace for 2020.
