Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes is proud to announce the 5th annual ‘Freddie Rocks’ – the Freddie For A Day fundraiser in aid of the Mercury Phoenix Trust. Pikes was the place where Freddie Mercury celebrated his wild and wonderful 41st birthday party in 1987 and it’s the place where Mark Jones and his Wall of Sound crew will return to celebrate with a fabulously flamboyant party full of fun in Freddie’s honour on Tuesday 1st September.
With fine food, a superb soundtrack, obligatory moustaches, fancy dress and allround feel-good Freddie vibes, the party will start at 3pm poolside until midnight before moving to the famous and aptly named ‘Freddie’s’ suite where Junior Sanchez, Doorly and a hotbed of the islands favourite DJs plus a VERY special surprise guest will keep the party going right through the night. Last years’ party with 2manydjs and Felix Da Housecat was one of the most fun… and talked about of the year!
Parents can kick back poolside as Kids in Ibiza entertain the kids in the Kids Rock Freddies corner complete with bouncy castle, fun and games between 3 – 7pm and a BBQ feast will be available in the gardens from 7 – 11pm.
When it comes to rock n roll anecdotes, Freddie Mercury’s fame where Pikes Hotel is concerned is legendary. A regular fixture of the hotel, he was a close friend of the hotel’s original owner Tony Pike ‘and celebrated his 41st birthday at this hidden gem in the hills; a party that lasted for days and spawned sensational stories. These days his memory lives on at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes, not least through Freddie Suite; a uniquely charming room at the centre of hedonism and happy times during Freddie’s reign. Now converted into the island’s party hotspot for those in the know, Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes continues to celebrate Freddie’s free spirit and zest for life.
All this fun is for a very good cause and 100% of donations will go directly to Mercury Phoenix Trust – a charity that was founded to distribute the monies raised from the 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness. Since 1992 the Mercury Phoenix Trust has been responsible for donating more than $15 million in the fight against AIDS making over 750 grants to charities worldwide.
