Dan Latner has put together his new LP called NO FUN INTENDED.
You can WATCH him paddle a canoe in his first video for “Northern Canada” BELOW . It’s got that authentic bluegrass heartbreak feeling, expressed with some very different words.
The album really snowballed accidentally into existence. In 2012, HE received a writing grant for a comedy album, and headed out to woodshed in Prince George, BC (Northern Canada), where a long term girlfriend was living. They broke up 2 days into the visit and then he moved to Sri Lanka where he wrote most of the songs. He has been bouncing around Asia and Africa ever since.
He wrote “In a Hotel” and “Girls with Glasses” in Nepal, so you could say that the album was written mainly during his travels.
