Presented by Liverpool Irish Festival & Mellowtone Ciaran Lavery and Ryan Vail perform their project album ‘Sea Legs’ in a one-off Liverpool performance for the opening of Liverpool Irish Festival.
Two artists from very different worlds; Ciaran is a young alt-folk singer from Aghagallon who has racked up an impressive 11 million plays on Spotify while Ryan Vail is a minimal electronic artist who creates widescreen soundscapes with piano, synthesiser and sampled found sound.
The artists have come together to create a beautiful experimental piece inspired by maritime life and the coastal surroundings of Donegal, where they recorded the album.
Featuring Ciaran’s wistful vocals, spoken word from an Irish poet,Boston and Donegal fishermen, sea gulls, the wind and the sea, the album and live performances are rich and enchanting. SEA LEGS takes its listeners on a wind swept journey, artfully crafted to a quiet timelessness.
Support is provided by Little Rivers. Little Rivers is the project of Belfast native Callum Cairns. After spontaneously releasing the ‘We,l’ EP in late 2012 with no prior recordings or gigs, a storm of critical interest quickly followed. Support slots with artists such as Soak and Rams’ Pocket Radio unveiled delicate and emotion drenchedsongs that quietly stunned audiences. Following the 2014 eponymous EP Callum will be performing new material.
