Rock band Chapel Row are creating a consistent buzz in their hometown of Merthyr, South Wales. The four piece indie/rock band now release their incredible EP “Lockdown” with tracks that batter you with a canorous, unabating sound. “Lockdown” is an incredibly thought provoking and heartfelt account of hardship and real life situations that have encroached on this part of the world over the past few years. Although the band members have a mean age of just 19, the lyrics and storytelling are saturated with maturity, angst and experiences. With each track the lyrics are delivered in a gutsy and temerarious manner, sung over an labyrinth of guitars and drums. “Lockdown” is an impressive, intoxicating and intrepid release that exudes promise.
Chapel Row are a classic British rock band in the making, taking the well trodden path as other such bands over the decades have done before them. Band members are:
Diggs Galliers – Vocals and Rhythm Guitar
Leon O’Leary – Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals
Connor Keohane – Bass Guitar and Backing Vocals
Jacob Herron – Drums
On the first time in a recording studio, guitartist Leon says “First time I’d say I was very excited and was like a kid on Christmas Day. The set up of EVI and all the equipment there was enough to blow me away. I mean they had Gibsons, fenders and by all means the best amplifiers along with it. However the recording studio did make me nervous as your weaknesses are exposed in terms of playing to a click track etc…”
The band will be supporting this release with the following live dates, with more due to be confirmed for the summer:
20th May – Redhouse
27th May – Merthyr Rising Festival
9th June – Public Service Broadcasting
26th June – Summer Vibes Festival
8th July – Clwb for Bach
2nd September – Bowstrong
25th November – Brain Freeze
