Shropshire is back for 2023! After a smash hit first year, the stellar sister show to the UK’s favourite
family festival is returning to Weston Park (17-20 August 2023) featuring headliners from Primal
Scream and pop-royalty Rudimental, to global stars The Human League. Arguably one of the hottest
acts of the year, Confidence Man will also join the line up to bring their feel-good party anthems,
alongside festival-favourites Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Melanie C. Plus, with over 100+ free activities
including Dick & Dom, Cosmic Kids Yoga with Jaime, Extreme Bike Battles and Wild Swimming
there’s truly something for everyone at Camp Bestival’s second magical year in Shropshire.
Speaking on Camp Bestival Shropshire’s Line-up announcement, Camp Bestival curator’s Josie &
Rob da Bank said: “Well, we only went and started a new festival didn’t we!? We couldn’t have been
happier with the site, the weather, the crowd, and the vibes. Oh yeah and paddle boarding round a
beautiful lake with our kids! A dream! So, we’re back for 2023 hoping to ramp up the levels even
more from introducing a brand-new Camp fancy dress parade, raft building and loads of cool new
little pop ups to mega pop stars and indie giants on the main stage. See you in the garden at Weston
Park in August!”
Brand-new for 2023, Shropshire will welcome the Big Camp Fancy Dress Parade – a costume party
with no theme, whether you make a costume, buy it, cobble it together from what’s in your
cupboard, or visit the Dressing Up tent on site, the parade will be a spectacular feast for the eyes
and soul!
Iconic Scottish rock band Primal Scream will lead the 2023 Camp Bestival Shropshire line up. Fronted
by founding member and rock-royalty Bobby Gillespie, Primal Scream have a back-catalogue
spanning more than 35 years including hits such as ‘Movin’ On Up’. Rudimental will return with a
mix of era-defining pop hits, whilst synth-pop’s first international superstars The Human League will
take us back to the 80s with sing-along bangers such as ‘Don’t You Want Me’.
Fresh from breaking a Guinness World Record at Camp Bestival Dorset 2022, disco diva Sophie Ellis-
Bextor joins the line up alongside 90s pop icons Melanie C and East 17, plus a DJ set from one of the
UK’s most popular dance acts Groove Armada. Currently topping playlists the world over,
Confidence Man will also join the line up to perform hit songs from their feel-good party album. Still
riding high from his skyrocketing Eurovision success, Sam Ryder will take to the Camp Bestival stage
and singer-songwriter Ella Henderson will entertain crowds with her huge pop hits.
Speaking on the Camp Bestival line-up, East 17 said “Who says you can’t start the Christmas spirit in
summer? We can’t wait to bring an East 17 festive extravaganza to Shropshire for our Camp Bestival
debut! Pull out the white puffer jackets and see you on the fields.”
Pioneers of death metal in the UK, West Midlands-born Napalm Death also join the line-up whilst
alternative rock band Pop Will Eat Itself will inject some indie and industrial rock to the weekend.
The fun continues with a sensational line-up of family favourites to delight crowds over a jam packed
four days in the spectacular grounds of Weston Park. From Cosmic Kids Yoga with Jaime to mischief
and singalongs from Mr Tumble and The Cuban Brothers, Dick and Dom, Mister Maker, and
Horrible Histories, there’s enough family fun for everyone. For the thrill seekers, there’s Extreme
Bike Battles, roller discos, mega skate ramps and even a Red Devils Parachute display!
The infamous Cirque Bijou will return to Shropshire with a mind-boggling new circus show ‘The
Silent Forest Show’. Camp Bestival Shropshire will also partner with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for
2023’s edition of the festival with full activity still to be revealed.
Pioneers of the wellbeing movement and curators of Camp Bestival, Josie and Rob da Bank are
hugely passionate about the unique wellness activities on offer within the immaculate grounds of
Weston Park. From yoga and meditation, Rob da Bank’s Sleep Retreat, and ice baths, to wild
swimming, paddle boarding, raft building, and SUP Yoga, families can enjoy moments of reflection
along the banks of the stunning Temple Wood lake throughout the weekend.
Elsewhere on the line-up, families can expect Fearne Cotton, Badly Drawn Boy, Caity Baser, Bez and
Rowetta, Elvana – Elvis Fronted Nirvana, The Bootleg Beetles, T’PAU, The Smyths, Hot Dub Time
Machine, The Dolly Show, Goldie Lookin Chain as well as many, many more.
A festival for every family, this year marks 15 years of Camp Bestival entertaining festival-goers with
genre spanning line-ups combined with circus spectacles, comedy, fancy dress, a mouth-watering
array of exquisite food and drink, wellbeing and healthy pursuits, a showstopping firework
