PREGOBLIN, the new band of former Fat White Family collaborator Alex Sebley, release a new single These Hands AKA Danny Knife featuring Peter Doherty through Strap Originals on Wednesday 26th July.

Alex Sebley says: “These Hands is about a young persons’ dream of being in a band and getting famous and the unhappiness, loneliness and unfulfillment that comes with fame when you get there.”
Peter Doherty took time out of his busy schedule (touring and recording with the Libertines and touring with French songwriter/producer Frederic Lo, with whom he released the acclaimed ‘The Fantasy Life Of Poetry & Crime’ last year) to sing with PREGOBLIN on ‘These Hands AKA Danny Knife’. On working with Peter, Alex says: “I see Peter’s overall work in line with the romantic poets of the past. Hardly a revelation, but the difference being, Pete can actually do it and invoke those themes, whereas so often others fail. I was also surprised how down-to-earth and funny he was on the first meeting… Peter said to me that ‘These Hands’ was the perfect song for him, ‘I’d written about his life,’ which made me smile.”
These Hands AKA Danny Knife was recorded in Brixton and produced by Dante Traynor.

Alex Sebley previously of the band The Saudis and latterly the Fat White Family. Alex co-wrote the Fat White’s breakout single Touch the Leather as well as Who Shot Lee Oswald? Rockfishes, These Hands andmany others. Oh Sebastian by the FWF is about Alex. Alex went solo in 2019 under the name PREGOBLIN, working with Jessica Winter and Dante Traynor.
