Liverpool pop-punkers Gold Bloom release their hyped debut EP “At Long Last” as the summer begins for UK Pop Punk’s next poster boys.
“Crosshairs” was the Scouse lads first single released on 15th May. The pop punk banger has infectious lyrics, get-up-and-go rhythms and monster choruses as the State Champs
influenced track raked in over 1,000 hits within the first 24 hours by word of mouth alone.
The energetic pop punk is still very much abrasive and in your face but it makes you want to crack a beer in the sun with your pals instead of getting sweaty in a mosh pit- however crowd surfing is definitely advised at their live shows.
The debut EP from the guys saw them work with producer Ian Sadler of Roam, Coldbones and Ohhms fame. For an album written in the band’s bedrooms its came off with a very professional, clean and immersive debut thanks to Sadler’s input. “He knew exactly what we were going for and we all loved working with him. We got him a Nerf gun on the final day of recording and the studio just descended into a coffee induced warzone” guitarist Shaun Brady said.
The band are composed of Sam Kinley (vocals), Shaun Brady (guitar), George Gebbie (drums), JohnJo Gorman (bass) and David Lynn (guitar.)
“We’re just a bunch of pop punk loving guys who adore the Liverpool scene we’re coming out of and have had a blast writing some songs. We try to not take ourselves too seriously and we’re just here to make some boss music and have as much fun as possible on the way to wherever this band might take us. We’ve spent years sinking our teeth into bands like The Wonder Years, State Champs and Four Year Strong and we all thought hell yeah, let’s give this a go and see if people like us. We can’t wait for people to hear this EP. To finally have a finished product coming out is such a relief.
“We don’t know our goals yet but we think we will have probably made it when people will buy us drinks on the Wetherspoons app after we post our table number online. Just no jugs of gravy please.”
The boys come from a rapidly developing and exciting Liverpool pop punk and emo scene which has seen bands like WSTR, Homebound and Fox Records’ Decay in recent years get sweaty in Merseyside basements. Be sure to get down to their debut show supporting Woes at Zanzibar on 6th July with tickets available here- definitely one not to miss.
Alongside “Crosshairs” the band also made a fun music video produced by Tom Kinley for the track. It sees quite a comedic police chase complete with a slapstick fight scene at the end. Try to spot the Simpsons references and fake legs!
