Music
MEUTE
MEUTE are a techno marching band, consisting of a dozen drummers and horn players from Germany, whose acoustic sets replace any need for a DJ. The combination of brass instruments and drums creates a new genre on the musical map, removing electronic music from the DJ desk and creating a new life form of hypnotic techno and expressive brass beats.
Romare
Archie Fairhurst, known professionally as Romare, studied African American Visual Culture at University and had his ‘Sex Pistols moment’ when he came across the work of Romare Bearden. The African American’s collaged, cut’n’paste artworks inspired the young musician to apply a similar technique to music – an approach that was hugely fruitful, and remains central to his work today. After stints as a drummer and guitarist throughout school and university, he moved to Paris where he picked up the turntables and began mixing his own music with samples from second hand records.
Thylacine
The French electronic music producer pairs dreamy cinematography with electronically intricate piano sets. His 2016 concept album ‘Transsiberian’ was composed over a 5,000 mile journey between Moscow and Vladivostok, blending the sounds of a busy train station with deep house beats. Drawing inspiration from English trip hop group Massive Attack and electronic musician Four Tet, expect to be taken on a journey through ethereal soundscapes and ambient electronics.
Giolì & Assia
The 21 years old Sicilian has built her musical career around her electronic music production skills. After meeting Assia Nania on Facebook in 2015, the two began a strong friendship and launched a number of artistic collaborations. Their magnificent album ‘Stantanee’ was a reflection on their shared experiences, and is an exciting glimpse into the future of their musical career.
Stimming
Born in Hamburg, Germany, Martin Stimming was already playing the violin, drums and keyboard at 10 years old. In 2006, he became a major artist on the music label Dynamic, releaseing the abstract album ‘Alpine Luisa’ in 2016- an ode to the beauty of the Alps. No doubt that this tribute will resonate in the mountain range of Valais!

With a multi-faceted style mixing jazz, pop and swing into their music, Moonlight Breakfast will lead the audience into a world full of up-beat groove and emotional desire. With two albums already under their belts, the group are quickly creating an enviable name for themselves on the music scene.
Laolu
Signed on Âme & Dixon’s label Innervisions, this Swiss DJ and producer is one of the small jewels on the Helvetic scene.. Having spent his first years in Nigeria, he met his future musical partner Kadebostan. With the release of his track ‘SeneKela’in 2014, Laolu launched his expansive musical career. His feverish sets are guaranteed to be please electronic music fans over the course of the weekend.
GUTS
After the release of three solo albums ‘Le Bienheureux’, ‘Freedom’ and ‘Paradise For All’ the French disc jockey has spread colourful music all over the world. The release of his album ‘Hip-hop After All’, saw the producer merge soul, funk, hip-hop, house and disco into the short EP. He will return to Sierre in 2018 armed with a luggage full of records, ready for a four hour beside the lake.
Lalibela Express
Formed by the mythical band Imperial Tiger Orchestra, Lalibela Express has toured with musicians all over the world, collaborating with some of the best musicians in Africa. This new project consists of six musicians, combining contemporary and vintage soundscapes to curate a truly individual sound.
Inüit
With their first EP ‘Always Kevin’ coproduced by Benjamin Lebeau from The Shoes, Inüit present a concentrated electronic sound. This original band combine saxophones, trombones, drums, percussions and keyboards to launch a truly individual sound, and their set is guaranteed to be a unique event over the weekend.
Clem Beatz
Clem Beatz found his passion for sampling when a trip to Australia allowed him to push and evolve his sound into a more electronic music environment. With tracks halfway between electronica, trip-hop and house music, he’s ready to convert his fans armed with just his guitar, synth and drum pads.
The Lugubrious
This Swiss electronic duo are following in the steps of critically acclaimed artists Bonobo, Christian Löffler and Kiasmos. Accompanied with a drummer and a saxophonist on stage, the duo bring a more organic touch to their musical composition of deep introspective loops and melodies. |
