SLAVES join Madness' House of Common festival lineup

House Of Common are delighted to announce that Slaves will be joining Madness on this year’s line-up.  Madness frontman Suggs joined the British punk duo on stage at Community festival in Finsbury Park on Saturday to reveal the exciting addition to the festival, taking place on August bank holiday (Monday 28th). With NME claiming Slaves’ Glastonbury set brought “chaos to the masses”, this is one performance you will not want to miss.

Slaves first emerged in 2012, working their way up through Kent’s toilet-venue circuit to become one of the success stories of the decade. Both the band’s debut album ‘Are You Satisfied?’ and 2016 album ‘Take Control’ smashed into the UK Top 10 on their releases and earned the band huge critical acclaim. Thanks to their charismatic mash-up of punky urgency and silly humour they bagged themselves NME’s Best Video award two years running, while also securing nominations for the Mercury Music Prize 2015, and for Best New Band at the Q Awards and NME Awards 2016. Along the way, they’ve won the hearts of The Streets’ Mike Skinner, stolen the show on last year’s NME tour, had Skepta join them on stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, played numerous stages at Glastonbury, and this August will be tearing up the main stage at House Of Common.

With the addition of Slaves to what’s already a deliciously broad lineup, House Of Common is gearing up to be one of the summer’s hottest events. Playing host to curator Madness’ only London live date of 2017, the event line up includes the likes of De La SoulGeneral Levy, Toddla TDawn Penn,Nadia Rose, Craig CharlesHackney Colliery Band, Soul II SoulNorman JayDennis BovellSherwood & PinchMungos HIFI, Venum Sound and very special guests The Skatalites.

Not only host to an incredible range of artists for the grown-ups, this year’s House Of Common kids area will be hosted by MINOR MADNESS PRESENTS Rave-A-Roo Garden Party. Following the incredible success of the kids area at last year’s House Of Common festival, this year’s kids area is set to be the biggest and best family rave fest the festival circuit has ever seen. Minor Madness is specially designed for under 11s and their grown ups and a place where families can feel safe and special whilst enjoying tons of bonkers fun!

Rave-A-Roo Garden Party promises to be the ultimate event for kids and families with….
