Watchet Festival – with 2 weeks to go all now Camping SOLD OUT
With just two weeks to go until this years WATCHET FESTIVAL All Camping Tickets have now sold out. A very limited number of day tickets are still remaining, but organisers are urging prospective attendees to purchase now, as for the first time in the festivals history it is set to sell out completely in advance, with no on the gate purchases available.
Festival-goers in their thousands have been snapping up tickets for this years Watchet Festival in order to see the likes of Sir Bob Geldofs The Boomtown Rats,The Selecter, Seth Lakeman and Big Country amongst the stunning surroundings of the West Somerset Coastline.
Three live stages will host more than 70 live acts, bringing a wide range of high-calibre musical acts not normally found performing in West Somerset. With non-camping Adult weekend tickets priced at just £50, and family tickets at just £135 (under 12s go free), Watchet is one of the best value 3-day music festivals anywhere in the country.
The Boomtown Rats have been storming festivals since the classic line up of Bob Geldof, Simon Crowe, Garry Roberts and Pete Briquette re-formed in 2013. With a huge back catalogue of Top 10 hits including Rat Trap (the first UK No.1 by an Irish band), Someones Looking At You, and of course the ubiquitous multi-million selling I Dont Like Mondays, this is set to be the biggest Saturday night performance that Watchet Live Festival have ever hosted.
Seth Lakeman is a multiple BBC Folk Award-winner and former Mercury Music Prize nominee. One of Devons finest musicians, Seths uplifting modern takes on classic Westcountry folk songs, shanties and legends have captivated audiences worldwide for over 20 years.
The Selecter are an iconic 2-tone Ska band. Fronted by the original singing duo of the legendary Pauline Black and Gaps Hendrickson, the dynamic and impeccable duo take centre stage in what is arguably the bands ever best line-up. The Selecters performance will feature all the classics such as 3 Minute Hero,On My Radio and Too Much Pressure, alongside tracks from their incredible new studio album, Subculture.
Sunday nights headliners are the magnificent Big Country. Formed in Dunfermline in the early 80s the band went on to have a string of hits and four Top 10 albums, including 1984s Steel Town, which went to Number 1.
Also performing are 80s New Wave legends The Blow Monkeys, the always entertaining Dr & The Medics, double-necked guitar wizard John Otway along with long-term collaborator Wild Willy Barrett, Merry Hell, Tankus The Henge and many many more.
Once again taking place on the August Bank Holiday Weekend, Friday 28th Sunday 30th August, Watchet LIVE Festival will showcase the very best music, food and entertainment from the Westcountry and beyond.
Following the success of last years sold out event (the festivals third in a row), Watchet LIVE Festival has made financial donations to local groups including The Childrens Hospice South West, West Somerset Brass band, and the local Stand Against Speed young drivers awareness campaign.
2015 will see a doubling of the camping and car parking space available in previous years. There will again be even more emphasis on youth-oriented daytime and evening entertainment & workshops Alongside a wide variety of high quality food stalls, the extensive in-house Cider and Real Ale Bar prices are always kept as low as possible, providing one of the best-value refreshments offerings to be found at any event in the UK.
