Steve Thompson & The Incidents, Rainbows & Arrows. Album Review
Steve Thompson & The Incidents

I first witnessed Steve Thompson and the Incidents at this years’ Threshold Festival and I was highly impressed by their attitude and music so reviewing their album “Rainbows & Arrows” was something I had long intended to do.

Listening to the album, two things struck me. The first was that this a well thought out album. Lyrically striking and musically tight with an obvious amount of passion put in. The second thing I had noticed was that their use of nostalgic musical genres together with the modern day lyrics works a treat. You automatically get a feel for the nineties brit-pop era alongside a harking back to a 60s hippy, trippy vibe. Both which work wonderfully.

Tracks such as  Turn your back on me and Love in the city give you that up-beat feeling of freedom with the latter tune giving a gracious to the music of the Doors.

The brooding and deep sound of Bizarre life , Its not in your nature and Rainbows pull you back into reality with their pure, crisp and clear words. There is a message in these tracks and you don’t have to listen to carefully to be both enlightened and educated.

This is an album that you will enjoy listening to time and time again and on each listen you’ll hear something more and take more away with you.
