Steve Thompson and the Incidents - Monster Single Review
Steve Thompson and the Incidents

Indie pop rock trio from Merseyside , Steve Thompson and the Incidents recently signed to c-side music publishing , debut album “Rainbows & Arrows

We recently reviewed the album Rainbows & Arrows and due out on the 9th of October is their new single “Monster

Monster starts with a slow, uneasy, child’s music-box intro, Monster automatically puts you on your guard. It also lulls you into a false sense of what is to come as 20 seconds in the track shows its true colours.

With and incessant bass bringing  in a screeching guitar the track kicks into life. Steve Thompson’s vocals are dark and low. When he says “we created a monster” he is talking about numerous things and allowing the listener to decide. Fame, fortune, celebrity statues. You make your choice. One thing is sure this track is definitely a “monster”.

A much darker outing for the band but something which works well for them. They are able to convey a lot through this track. Maybe not as lyrically full as previous tracks it still manages to be enough to make you think and to be not too full on as to turn people away. It’s still as infectious as other tracks which says a lot about the song writing and musical composition of the band.
