Gearing up for the summer ahead, Standon Calling is set to be one of the true unmissable highlights of the festival season – with news of a huge warm-up party announced today in association with charity partners War Child.
Taking over the stunning Omeara on Saturday June 10th, the night will see an unrivalled array of fresh and exciting talent taking to sets ahead of their appearance at Standon Calling this summer. Headlining the night is acclaimed Lewisham groover Jodie Abacus, bringing his infectious soul-infused chimes and one of the most recognisable new voices of the year to Omeara’s hallowed halls. He’ll be joined on the night by electro genre-blenders Strong Asian Mothers, garage-rock heavyweights Tangerines and East London indie risers Average Sex for a night packed full of the very best in emerging sounds across all genres and styles. With a spinning collection of doom-soaked favourites from Feeling Gloomy to DJ away the night, it’s set to be the perfect Saturday night taster of what’s to come at Standon Calling this year.
The Standon Calling Warm-Up Party has been pulled together in association with the festival’s charity partner War Child, with £1 from every ticket sold helping to support children affected by conflict. For more information on the incredible work War Child does, head to https://www.warchild.org.uk

ABOUT WAR CHILD UK
War Child is striving for a world where children’s lives are no longer torn apart by war.
We protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children caught up in conflict. We aim to reach children as early as possible when conflict breaks out, and stay to support them through their recovery – helping to keep them safe, give them an education, and equip them with skills for the future.
We understand children’s needs, respect their rights, and put them at the centre of the solution – from supporting Syrian children to access education, to reintegrating child soldiers in the Central African Republic and promoting justice for young people in detention in Afghanistan. Together with our partners we work in 15 countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and Latin America.
We also work with children and young people to change systems and practices that affect them – campaigning on the root causes of conflict and demanding that children are at the centre of humanitarian response.
