Sound City – the UK’s biggest city-based festival – is proud to announce The Coral as its headline act for Sunday night.
The Sound City show, the band’s first in Liverpool for five years, promises to be a standout performance and an emotional experience for both the band and hometown fans.
Said Dave Pichilingi, Sound City CEO: “The Coral have always been on our wish list and we are absolutely delighted they have chosen Sound City for their return. We’re expecting some big scenes when they close the Atlantic Stage on Sunday night, facing out across the water to their Wirral home.
“They are part of the DNA of this city and occupy a very special place in our hearts. It’s going to be a landmark show and one not to miss.”
The Coral’s singer, James Skelly, said: “Sound City is a great festival and the setting is just incredible. We’re really looking forward to the headline slot and being back in Liverpool. It’s going to be a very special show.”
Sound City – one of the UK’s most vibrant and culturally significant music events – takes place on 28 & 29 May 2016 at the Liverpool Waters Bramley-Moore Dock, an historic waterfront location and one of the most unique festival sites in the world.
With hundreds of bands, performers, happenings and experiences still to be announced, Sound City is an essential fixture on the festival calendar.
