The Old Bushmills Distillery has been making whiskey, and history for over 400 years, and is one of the first distilleries in the world to make both single malt and blended Irish whiskey. It’s this innovation and willingness to be different that has inspired ‘The Bushmills Tour’, which provides the opportunity for breakthrough acts to play alongside headline bands, offering a stage platform for a new generation of talent.

‘The Bushmills Tour’ will be fronted by established bands returning to their local independent roots in some of the UK’s most iconic music venues. With the Music Venue Trust reporting an estimated 40% of music venues closing in the past 10 years, Bushmills aims to celebrate these iconic venues that remain the lifeblood of the UK music scene.

Full details of each headline performance are as follows:

13th April – Brighton // Green Door Store, The Magic Gang

Named ‘one of the country’s most incendiary new bands’ by NME, The Magic Gang has fast become one of the hottest bands in the U.K. after racking up a host of festival appearances. Working their way towards a debut album, The Magic Gang are known for having pure passion when performing and will be sure to be an electric start to the tour.

27th April – Manchester // Deaf Institute, VANT

Hailing from Manchester with indie rock roots, VANT found their way onto national radio with their razor-sharp guitar lines. They have received praise from the likes of Clash and DIY for their sugary and sardonic six-string creations.

9th May – London // Bush Hall, We Are Scientists

Bringing some of the Californian sun to the capital, New York based We Are Scientists have released four albums and have a fifth on the way. Known for always injecting a bit of comedy to their live performances, the duo always put on a great show. Music isn’t the only form of creativity that We Are Scientists have used to #AnswerTheCall as the boys are also known for writing a short play script for their website and often bring theatrics and grandeur to their live music performances.

We Are Scientists will be playing the iconic Bush Hall, a beautifully restored Edwardian dance hall located in Shepherd’s Bush, London, Bush Hall has showcased some of the world’s biggest artists during their rise to success, including; Van Morrison, Kings of Leon, Snow Patrol and Florence and the Machine, to name but a few.

As part of the #AnswerTheCall campaign, Bushmills Irish Whiskey has partnered with Bush Hall in a bid to help fund an ongoing refurbishment programme to maintain the venue, as well as equipment for its future live shows.  This will give up and coming artists and talent the chance to make a name for themselves on a stage that has been played by some of the biggest names in the business.

25th May – Leeds // Headrow House, The Wytches

Renowned for recording their nihilistic debut album in just two days, The Wytches mix their prolific sound with carnal fuzz and an energy that’s fearfully focused in every live performance. The Wytches formed while studying at university where they realised that music was the force that they felt driven to pursue above and beyond their academic studies.
