Rocksalts Events have announced details of People Powered #OurNHS, a gig in support of the NHS in Liverpool on Saturday June 10th 2017.
The concert takes place at the O2 Academy in Liverpool and is headlined by local legend Michael Head. The bill also includes fellow Merseyside acts Hooton Tennis Club and Edgar Jones alongside Kathryn Williams and Steve Pilgrim.
The show is aimed at raising awareness of the current plight of the NHS. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Health Campaigns Together group for their continuing campaign promoting issues with regards to the NHS.
Alan Taman, the organiser of Health Campaigns Together, said about the organisation, “Fighting what is happening to our NHS has to happen everywhere. Cuts are being made and private companies are being allowed in. That’s why events like this are vital: most people simply cannot believe any government of this country would be arrogant and callous enough to end the NHS – until their hospital closes, or the pain they are in while waiting for their knee operation is deemed ’non-urgent’ and they wait in agony. Then they know – the NHS IS disappearing. They really are that arrogant.”
