Harvest Sun present a brand new annual event and the first of its kind at the magnificent and newly refurbished Grand Central Hall, a grade II listed former methodist church, which has been hidden away upstairs in the former Barcelona Bar on Renshaw St. “In Good Company” pairs together two of our favourite artists of recent times along with some brilliant new talent, both of whom are beginning to forge their own path in the music game.

PHOSPHORESCENT
Headlined by Americana sensations Phosphorescent, creators of one of 2018s greatest albums C’est La Vie, which has just been released to universal acclaim this month. Last in Liverpool in 2013 for a packed to the rafters and now legendary show at The Kazimier, the project lead by Alabama resident Matthew Houck return for one of only three UK dates. Hailing from Athens, Georgia, the college town that spawned legendary acts R.E.M. and The B52s, Houck has built one of the strongest back catalogues in US independent music over the past 15 years.”New Birth in New England sounds like some wondrous Paul Simon song he somehow neglected to record, from the bounce of the melody to the conversational, chatty lyric. C’est La Vie is a record to bathe in.” – The Guardian FULL REVIEW HERE

BC CAMPLIGHT
Making a hugely welcome return to Liverpool, chamber pop outfit BC Camplight will showcase their incredible new album Deportation Blues. Inspired by a tumultuous year trying to remain settled in the UK, Brian Christinzio has created a melodically rich, beautifully arranged set that finds light in it’s dark origins. A stand out performer at his label Bella Union’s 20th anniversary show at Liverpool Music Week last year, the show will be a return to the city Deportation Blues was recorded in.

WASUREMONO
Focussing on the rising aces appearing on the bill, Wasuremono will make their Liverpool debut at In Good Company. Firm favourites of taste making station BBC 6 Music, the band were recently invited to record a session for Steve Lamacq at the iconic Maida Vale Studios. With a support slot to US alt rock titans Flaming Lips on the way, the group’s ambient dream pop will find favour with Mercury Rev and Sigur Ros.

PENELOPE ISLES
Signed to reliably wonderful UK indie label Bella Union (John Grant, Spiritualized), Penelope Isles bring together fuzzy indie guitar hooks with boy girl harmonies and pop melodies. Currently working on their eagerly awaited debut LP, Penelope Isles ae strongly recommended to fans of Deerhunter, Radiohead and Neil Young.

GRAND CENTRAL HALL
Following a top to bottom refurbishment earlier this year Grand Central Hall has been restored to it’s former glory. Built in 1905 as a Methodist chapel, the auditorium boasts perfect acoustics to the extent it was used as a temporary home by the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra during the 1930s. With a capacity of 1,200 seated and standing, the stunning venue already looks set to take become a gig destination alongside the likes of Manchester’s Albert Hall.
