Heavenly Records 25th Birthday at The Kazimier
Heavenly Records

Legendary indie label Heavenly celebrate quarter of a century on the cutting edge of independent music with a unique all-day celebration at The Kazimier and The Kazimier Gardens in early August in association with Harvest Sun Promotions.

Showcasing Heavenly’s current roster the bill includes King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Voyeurs, Kid Wave, Duke Garwood, Gwenno and rising Merseyside quartet Hooton Tennis Club.

The day’s proceedings are capped by headlining performances by Brighton surf-garage trio The Wytches, who issued their debut LP Annabel Dream Reader to sizeable acclaim last year, and Merseyside alt. pop unit Stealing Sheep.  Fresh from playing Sound City they return to their spiritual home of The Kazimier for what will doubtless be a memorable appearance featuring costumes, stage decoration and tracks from the band’s revered second LP ‘Not Real’.

Founded in 1990 by Jeff Barrett who has remained at the helm ever since, Heavenly Records quickly established itself as a force in the independent sector signing retro futurists Saint Etienne and crossing over into the mainstream with the folktronica pioneer Beth Orton and scoring its first UK number one album with alt rock trio Doves in 2002.

A bill that brings together many of the labels brightest talents, Heavenly 25 represents a true one-off event that brings together one of the country’s most famous independent labels with one of the country’s finest independent venues that is surely set to be one of the high points of the Liverpool gig calendar this year.
