Ghost Pressure to release debut EP, “Chance,” - February 6, 2015

Ghost Pressure

The catalyst of Ghost Pressure’s beginnings had as much to do with interpersonal discovery between its members, as it did their collective positive and negative experiences. It was from these combined micro and macro perspectives, that the group harnessed a desire to craft music encompassing society’s many perceptions and reactions to our everyday existence.

The beauty of Ghost Pressure’s core inspiration is that their fundamental affinity for songwriting revolves around connecting with the lives of average individuals, while depicting those same lives through vivd imagery that embraces the unusual.

Ghost Pressure’s forthcoming debut EP, “Chance,” is due for release on February 6, 2016.

ABOUT GHOST PRESSURE

Indie rock with a touch of prog-rock tendencies: everything about Ghost Pressure – from their name to their songwriting and live performances – presents an undeniable air of thought provoking contradiction. A four piece group that only came together in the past year, Nicholas Post (vocals and guitar), David Hodgkinson (guitar), Nicholas Femister (bass) and Karina McMahon (drums) create music born from the deep reservoir of theirs and others’ everyday experiences and emotions; recounted through an amalgam of metaphors and lyrical imagery that span from “larger than life,” to “casual vernacular.”

Sonically upbeat and memorable but not absent of narrative substance, Ghost Pressure’s sound melds with the likes of Interpol, Bombay Bicycle Club, Delta Spirit and Bloc Party. Offering listeners the melodically unexpected – not from a desire for shock value but from an affinity for compositional texture – Ghost Pressure’s songs house the energy of life’s internal and external ups and downs, alongside the complexity of the human condition, all sewn together with a shared thread of linguistic and musical sophistication.

Amidst a breadth of live shows, visiting stages everywhere from the eastern shores of Long Island (89 North Music Venue) to cherished New York City staples like Arlene’s Grocery, The Rock Shop and Mercury Lounge, Ghost Pressure has finalized work on their debut EP, “Chance.” While the completion of this project might signify a type of ending, for Ghost Pressure, it represents just the beginning of their engagement with the intricacies of songwriting and – for better or worse – the perceived realities of honest living.
