Buhagiar says “Music is a major part of my life whether it’s playing live, recording in a quality studio or jamming in my mates Garage. It inspires me to get up in the morning and be creative. Living in Liverpool gives you the opportunity to meet and jam with some of the best players out there. Our City is known for its rich musical culture, it’s a city which is full of rock and roll history but as well as having a boss track record I believe Liverpool still has a lot more to offer. I believe an explosion of talent is about to erupt out of our city turning heads all over the world opening new doors on our musical journey. Alongside Gary Owens from the Arts & Culture Factory I have been working towards opening a free recording studio and now with the help of Mode Training we have nearly completed our dream. It has been a pleasure to meet and team up with Mode Director Debbie Tagoe and now with Debbie and the rest of the Mode team we have already built the studio which is ready to be installed with recording equipment.

Mode training will also be providing NVQ music courses from the studio during the day whilst The Arts & Culture Factory will be running the free studio at night.  The studio is located in the Mode Training building, 35 Sefton Street and will hopefully be up and running by the end of July for some lucky bands to test while we adjust the sound and we also plan to have an official opening in August. The line-up for The Dome concert is confirmed as Antony Mooney, Electric Green, Huyton Minstrel, The Sky, Root Note, The Reckoners, Ste Weevil, Ross Martin, Becky & The Band, The Haze, Jimmy & The Revolvers, The Havocs and The Stamp.

We will be putting a string of gigs together over the next few months to raise as much funds as possible as we intend for this studio to last and believe it will do with the support of our city and its fine musicians. A free recording studio has been long overdue in Liverpool and I am proud to be part of the team who made it happen.”

If you cant make The Dome concert then the next Backbone fundraiser gig will be one week later on Saturday the 25th of July with The Ambition, Rainbird, Josh Johnston, Tom Crofts & Bert Taylor, Ste Weevil, Jonny Taylor plus lots more on one of Liverpools most original stages, The Planet Boat.
