The Dead 60s reform for UK shows in April 2017
The Dead 60s

The band, featuring Matt McManamon, Ben Gordon, Charlie Turner and Bryan Johnson, burst onto the scene in 2005 with their Central Nervous System produced eponymous debut album & limited edition Space Invader dub album released through Liverpool label, Deltasonic Records. A string of singles accompanied the release including breakthrough hit Riot Radio, which found itself on heavy rotation on US Alternative Radio that year.

Inspired by Gang of Four, Jackie Mittoo, King Tubby and The Clash, the band’s energised live performances and potent mix of punk, dub & horrorcore ska ignited audiences globally, winning over fans & critics alike and landing them key festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Glastonbury and Rock En Seine, as well as opening slots on tour with Morrissey, Kasabian and with label mates The Coral.

2007 found The Dead 60s embarking on a number of collaborations including their own signature jacket with Fred Perry and a compilation for legendary reggae label Trojan Records, Riot Radio Broadcast.

The band decamped to Avatar Studios in New York to begin work on their follow up album Time To Take Sides with producer David Kahne.

Despite having the finished album recorded & ready to go, the band issued a statement in Feb 2008 announcing their split. Members have since pursued other musical careers, the most recent being Matt McManamon guesting as The Specials lead guitarist.
