Following a turbulent few years that saw Camilla Kerslake stepping out of the spotlight to become a full time carer to her mother subsequent to a breast cancer diagnosis, the twenty-seven year old soprano returns triumphant with her comeback single ‘Come Home’.
Camilla is best known as Gary Barlow’s protégée and she returns with a startling and stunning new sound inspired by Kate Bush, Maria Callas and Patsy Cline. Powerful, commanding and passionate, ‘Come Home’ unveils Camilla’s novel sound, based on a fusion of both country and classical tones.
Her distinctively smooth soprano voice and deft ability to hit even the highest notes means it is not hard for Camilla to set herself apart from her contemporaries. It also means that not only is she a Classical Brit Award nominee, but she is also one of the go-to artists to perform for the Royal Family.

Choosing to circumvent the highly saturated pop music market, Camilla instead defines her own genre, modernizing traditional, raw harmonies. The result is an anthemic and emotional performance, her soaring vocals taking center stage throughout. Images of glory and courage are summoned in the listener, with Camilla drawing on her own struggles and strength in the face of adversity she has found over the last couple of years.
Thankfully her mother made a gradual recovery, and the experience has driven Camilla to dedicate much of her time and energy to raising awareness for breast cancer. She began campaigning for the Royal Marsden, the hospital that saved her mother’s life, and Breast Cancer Campaign (who funded her treatment) after an 18-month sabbatical.
Camilla kick-started her career at the age of 19 when she set her sights on Gary Barlow’s record label Future Records, and after much persistence she managed to grab his attention, and secured her signing to the label.
Following this, Camilla sang the national anthem at Wembley Stadium for the football Carling Cup Final and Rugby League Challenge Cup Final, the Rugby League World Cup opening ceremony at the Millennium stadium, several performances for England Rugby Union at Twickenham stadium and charitable performances in the presence of the Royal family at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and The Houses of Parliament.
She is currently working on her hugely anticipated third album, due out in March 2016, which perfectly showcases her flair and adaptability, featuring lyrical ballads and up-tempo melodies – as well as the brilliant new single ‘Come Home’.
