Laura Jean Anderson releases A Righteous Girl in March

Laura Jean Anderson releases A Righteous Girl in March

Laura Jean Anderson

As young as she may look, Laura Jean Anderson is filled with the spirit of wisdom, amassed through years of traveling, busking, hitchhiking, touring and old time religion–just the kind of learning a prolific songwriter would need.

You can hear it in her voice and lyrics on her latest EP, Righteous Girl in which she evokes the ghosts of Janis Joplin and modern influences of Lucius, St. Vincent and Alabama Shakes, “I feel like these songs reflect that feeling you get when you get one glimmer of hope, of sunshine in the midst of a deep depression. I would go on long walks barefoot with my guitar in the neighborhoods of LA–I felt super out of place doing that but for some reason, it put things into perspective,” Anderson says wistful.

“Take Me In” opens up the EP and An...

The New Single from New York City based Luke Rathborne, “Losing It”

The New Single from New York City based Luke Rathborne, “Losing It” sees him following up on the promise of last LP, “SOFT” in fine Prince-like, Fine Young Cannibals meets 70’s come Kraut Rock form and some of the aural Spaceyness of War on Drugs at their best. The track finds Rathborne lost in a swirl of synths and falsetto while bassist Darren Will whirrs along locked tightly with Drummer Jamie Alegre’s groove, with Rathborne filling out all the rest of the instruments, keys, percussion, dripping electronics, and wash of tangled guitars and JUNO synthesizers.

Rathborne is announcing the upcoming March full length LP release, “AGAIN”, the follow-up to 2014’s, “SOFT” (garnering over 3 million streams on...

Froth announce they are expanding their tour, adding dates with The Drums

Froth

Today, Froth announced via Bandsintown that they are expanding their tour, adding dates with The Drums.  Check out the updated dates below.  Last week NPR premiered Froth‘s track “Nothing Baby” off their recent album, Bleak.  The video is directed by Riley Blakeway.
FROTH‘s debut LP, Patterns, was released in fall 2013 on Burger Records and Lolipop Records, and bared witness to the young group’s rapid musical growth and developing ear for composition. For their sophomore album, BLEAK which sold out within a month...
