The Lounge Kittens to play Liverpool Arts Club - Saturday 22 April 2017

Following on from their headline tour in October, which saw them sell out four shows, including London’s iconic 100 Club, everybody’s favourite not-so-guilty pleasure, The Lounge Kittens, are hitting the road again in April.

Their debut album Sequins & C-Bombs features a whopping 15 of their humorous, entertaining and technically challenging covers and stormed into the UK charts on its release last September.

The compilation of tracks sees the girls tackle even more genres than before as they take on everything from Rammstein to Usher, passing briefly through Mumford & Sons and culminating in their first collaboration with a big band sound for Marilyn Manson’s ‘The Beautiful People’ and their now infamous Prodigy medley ‘Smack My Firestarter to Outer Space’.

A Liverpool festival of grassroots music and arts has been given a huge boost in their crowdfunding campaign from a brand new patron and a pledge from Arts Council England.

Threshold Festival launched their campaign last week following a shortfall in funding ahead of their 7th annual event in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle. Organisers have been amazed by the response so far, which has included a £1000 pledge from Pacificstream, a Liverpool support service for creative industries, making them an official Threshold 2017 Patron.

In support of her recent EP “Silent Confirmation”, Johanna Alba is touring across the UK in March and April 2017.
She is a singer/songwriter with roots in Germany and Spain. In 2013 she won Germany’s most prestigious national music contest “jugend musiziert”as a singer and a first prize for the interpretation of her own songs later that year. The publicity surrounding her awards led to a scholarship, nationwide gigs and a tour through Greece and Germany.
In 2014 she made her dream come true and moved to Manchester to study songwriting at the British Institute of Modern Music. In just one year she has made herself known within the music scene in Manchester, and played at  festivals such as Leeds and Reading.
