Boomtown fair 2016 is almost upon us

Boomtown fair 2016

From August 13-16th 2015, Matterley Bowl in Winchester will play host to BoomTown Fair – a fictional pop-up city where post-apocalyptic Mad-Max meets Burning Man in an immersive playground of creativity, life imitating art, interactive sideshows and live theatre.
Since its inception in 2009, BoomTown Fair has become one of the top 10 largest festivals in the UK and is the only one with an ingeniously manufactured storyline containing it’s own mayoral elections, citizen passports and convoluted political history. It is this, the underpinning storyline that gives the festival the scope to mix cowboys with pirates, and aliens with Aztec temples, across their numerous themed main stages and the countless smaller shop fronts, hidden beaches and forest parties…

Jess and the Bandits add Newcastle date to headline tour

Jess and the Bandits

2015 keeps getting bigger and better for 1/5 Texan and 4/5 British country band Jess and the Bandits. Having sold out their three headline performances of the year and debuted at #6 on the official country charts with album Here We Go Again (listen here), the group blew Terry Wogan away with their reworking of Mama Told Me Not To Come and also stole of the heart of Bob Harris, for whom they have already recorded two Under The Apple Tree sessions in 2015.

Having won rave reviews for their festival appearances, from C2C to last weekend’s Ramblin’ Man, the band are excited about the release of their self-confidence anthem ‘Nitty Gritty’, which is being released in association with high street plus size retailer Evans’ #StyleHasNoSize campaign.

With their fanbase rapidly o...

Public Image Ltd (PiL) have unveiled the video for single ‘Double Trouble’

Public Image Ltd (PiL) have unveiled the video for single ‘Double Trouble’

Public Image Ltd

Public Image Ltd (PiL) will release ‘Double Trouble’ on 21st August on 10” vinyl. It’s the lead single from their forthcoming 10th studio album ‘What The World Needs Now…’, which is released on 4th September on the band’s own label PiL Official. Watch the video below.

According to John Lydon, the album opener arose from an argument with his wife about plumbing but came to concern relationships. The 10” vinyl version will be backed by ‘Bettie Page’, which, John says, is “an homage to the late ‘Queen of the Pin-Ups’”, and also comes with additional non-album bonus track ‘Turkey Tits’. The artwork for ‘Double Trouble’, partly inspired by Native American Hopi characters, was designed and hand drawn by John Lydon himself.
