Legendary indie label Heavenly celebrate quarter of a century on the cutting edge of independent music with a unique all-day celebration at The Kazimier and The Kazimier Gardens in early August in association with Harvest Sun Promotions.

Showcasing Heavenly’s current roster the bill includes King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Voyeurs, Kid Wave, Duke Garwood, Gwenno and rising Merseyside quartet Hooton Tennis Club.

The day’s proceedings are capped by headlining performances by Brighton surf-garage trio The Wytches, who issued their debut LP Annabel Dream Reader to sizeable acclaim last year, and Merseyside alt. pop unit Stealing Sheep...

JENN GRANT has revealed her stunning new video for American Man taken from her two time JUNO nominated album, Compostela, out now in the UK. The video features some of America’s most iconic men including Martin Luther King, Rodriguez, Johnny Cash, Sturgill Simpson, Fr. John Misty, Gene Kelly, Jon Hamm, Sean Penn, Samuel L. Jackson, Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford, Christopher Reeve, and James Dean.

Directed by Jenn’s producer and husband, Daniel Ledwell, Jenn says of the track and video-“This song comes from my imaginary tale of a dark relationship between two lovers. Images of iconic American men against performance footage shot in Toronto, Ontario, relate to the pull of the ‘stranger danger man.'”

Stephen Langstaff, Polar States, Natalie McCool, Gary Edward Jones and Chelcee Grimes are among the Liverpool acts performing during the inaugural three-day Liverpool Loves festival in August. Liverpool Loves New Music is an integral part of Festival Day on Saturday 8 August at the iconic location of Pier Head Liverpool on the city’s waterfront.  Festival Day is free to attend and will run from 10am to 10pm – a full 12 hours of culture, entertainment and activities on the banks of theRiver Mersey.

 

The programme will span across zoned areas covering music, the arts, dance, comedy, food and drink, health and well-being, and family fun – creating a real festival atmosphere at the heart of the waterfront.
